Organized by the German trade fair specialists fairtrade agrofood Nigeria 2017 will take place from 28 to 30 March 2017 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos. Exhibitors from ten countries have already booked, among them many global technology leaders. The exhibitors come from Benin, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, the Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
VDMA again holds food tec-symposiumVDMA again holds a Symposium on food and drink technology under the slogan “German Technology – Tailor made for foodstuff processing & packaging”. “This year again we will present the strengths of German engineering in Lagos”, so Martina Claus, Head of Market Development Africa, VDMA. “This event will give an excellent opportunity to meet leading manufacturers of machinery for the production and packaging of food and beverages.”

Nigeria has imported agricultural machinery and equipment worth 119 million Euro in 2015. Nigeria is also the 2nd largest importer of food processing and packaging technology in Africa making up for 234 million Euro in 2015 (VDMA). Food trade with Nigeria is a 13.4 billion USD business as Nigerian food imports summed-up to 8.5 billion USD in 2014 and food exports for 4.9 billion USD (WTO).
